About Our Pastor

Pastor Linwood Grant, a native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, born to the late Willie and Janie Grant, is the youngest of four brothers and sisters. He attended public schools in Rocky Mount and graduated in 1971 from Northern Nash High School. Pastor Grant moved to the Washington Metropolitan Area and united with the New Macedonia Baptist Church, under the leadership of the Late Dr. Robert L. Walls, Senior Pastor. It was here at New Macedonia that Pastor Grant was ordained a Deacon and was licensed as a Minister and then ordained to preach God’s Word.

Pastor Grant studied Theology at George Washington University and served as an understudy at the National Baptist Convention. Some years later, God led Pastor Grant to transition to Kingdom Missionary Baptist Church, in Bladensburg, Maryland, under the leadership of Pastor Charles W. Dockett, where he served as Assistant Pastor to Pastor Dockett.

Pastor Grant loves the Lord; he was chosen, anointed, and appointed to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. With prayer and direction from the Lord, on August 14, 2006, Reverend Linwood Grant accepted his Call to become the Pastor of St. Judah Spiritual Baptist Church. On Saturday, August 25, 2007, the Installation Ceremony was held, and Rev. Linwood Grant became the fifth Pastor of St. Judah.

Pastor Grant’s secular career and private life are also just as fruitful.  After 47 years of service, in 2017, he retired from George Washington University.  God has blessed Pastor Grant with a supportive and loving wife, First Lady Jacquelyn Grant. They are the proud parents of two sons and two daughters.
